Water At The Zoo

Today we braved the heat and
humidity and headed to the
zoo to play in the splash area.
Maddy has never seen this area at the
zoo before, as I quickly walk her past....
I think I'll be in trouble next time
we go without a bathing suit!!

Checking stuff out....

All wet on the cow!

Baby chicks

Wet with the frog.

*On a side note, several people commented
on the girls to Sarah and I how cute they were together...
holding hands and talking and hugs.
We think they are pretty darn cute, too!!!

Meeting Leah

Sunday we drove up to Phoenix
to meet my niece Leah.
Everyone was excited and Maddy talked about
"Eeah" and Mimi's belly for a good
portion of the drive up!!

Pancakes With Uncle Will

Last Friday my Mom took my
Dad to his appointment (you know the one...)
so Uncle Will came over to watch me and Clare.
Will made some super delicious ricotta
pancakes for everyone and I got to help!!!

Welcome Leah

My little sister had her baby girl today!!!
I was getting ready to head out
the door to drive up and my Mom
called to say she had to have a C-section,
so I won't get to meet her until
she is home from the hospital next week.

Bestie's On The Slide

Today I got to see Autumn!!!!
Autumn went on vacation,
so we hadn't seen each other
in almost 2 weeks...
that is too long for us!

Happy to be together.

Kicking.

Sliding....

... into the pool!

Autumn's turn!

Again!

We may be synchronized swimmers one day!

A little video:

Clare's 1st Tooth

Yep.
I knew it was coming.
We could feel it for a while,
but it finally poked through,
I am sure #2 will be following close behind.

Bin Time

Maddy loves to empty the stuffed
animal bin out and climb in it.
Clare joined her this time!

Madeleine's Week

Mad's week in review:

Since I started working at
DeMont Family Swim School,
Mad has been getting lessons.
Free lessons!
Thursday she joined her class,
the class she will be in every week.
Mad got her first ribbon for being
a swimmer and I promised to make her
a ribbon box, I know she will have a ton!
I was a little bummed about her
class being on a Thursday since that is
the day we go to toddler time at the library.
She loves going there and we have
missed very few since she was 9 months old!
Thats a long time.
BUT, the class prior to Maddy's is
an infant class, so it works out perfect
for us since Clare will be starting classes next month.
We can get them both done in one day!

After a marathon of putting Clare
down for her nap one morning,
I came out to find Maddy feeding her baby.
She also takes the owl and dog potty
and changes their diapers.
A lot.
She is a good little mommy.

Bear. Enough said.

I made cookies the other day
while Mad was napping and saved
one of the beaters for her.
She had never had one before.
She liked it!

A little too excited when
she heard the words "bath time"!

Clare At 5 Months.... And A Few Days

Sweet Baby Clare is 5 months old.
While she is the sweetest,
most smiley baby on the planet
when she is awake, she is a complete
nightmare to put to sleep....
nothing like Madeleine.
She wants to crawl.
She is getting up on her knees
but buries her head into the ground.
Soon enough!

Rendezvous At The Zoo

Saturday Auntie B and her friend
Amanda (Manna) came to stay the night with us.

We got to go to the zoo so I could show them around....

Mad and Clare

Mad petting the snake.

Ahhhh, Sweet Baby Clare.

Yes.
This really happened.
I have never seen so many
people at the tortoise exhibit...
camera's out, ears covered.
The sounds the male was making
and the sound of the shells
cracking against each other.
Yikes, people.
Yikes.

When I asked Madeleine what her
favorite animal at the zoo was,
this was her response:

We love you Autumn!!
Maddy missed you at the zoo! : )
